He’s always been at peace. He’s always been calm, which surprised me.

It’s not an institution, it’s somebody’s house, and it feels like somebody’s house. The kitchen is in the middle so there’s lots of activity going on all the time..comfortable, but not institutional furniture. It’s a very special atmosphere.

Once and a while, I’ve been here when they’re having a staff meeting and they all seem to have, you know, an intense care for what they’re doing and having fun at the same time. There’s a lot of laughter here which is essential to me for a good life.

It’s the best it could possibly possibly be and I am very grateful that there’s a place like The Vicarage.
